Cat Carers / Fosterers
If you love cats and are caring with a good knowledge of cat welfare you might be just what we need. We're always looking for cat carers to foster cats and kittens until we can find them a new home. This is a very rewarding job, but requires time and effort on your part. You need to be able to care for the cat, but also to let the cat go when the time comes when a permanent home has been found. All cats in our care must be looked after to Cats Protection standards and some will need more intensive attention than others. Fostering can be done either in a purpose built cabin (which will be provided) in your garden or by having the cat living in your house. All cat food, cat litter and equipment will be provided. You would need to be organised to be able to take the cat to/from the vet, if necessary, and to keep medical records for the cat. Could you open up your home and your heart to a cat or kitten for a short or long term period? If so, please get in touch with us for more information.

Fundraising Officer
If you have bags of energy and can motivate people then this is perfect for you! Not all our roles are "hands on" with cats. This is your chance to organise and lead a team of enthusiastic volunteers to raise absolutely vital funds so we can continue our good work and help even more cats. You and your team would plan both fundraising and publicity events. You'd organise the volunteers with their tasks and draw up an attendance rota. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fun team of people where your results are clear and you'll see what your hard work has achieved straight away - how rewarding is that! Give us a call and we'll tell you more about the fantastic ideas we have ..... we just need someone to make it happen!

Fundraising Volunteers
Are you energetic and love meeting people, talking to the public? If you're looking for a social and rewarding role dealing with the public then this was made for you! The role includes helping out at various fundraising events, helping to collect or deliver goods, generating new and fun ideas to raise funds and being involved in organising events. You would be giving your time to raise the vital funds we need to allow us to continue helping the cats in the area. You know you'd have a great time doing this and would make lots of new friends, so get in touch with us soon!

Home Visitors
If you have your own transport, are good with people and want to make sure the cats we care for are given to suitable and caring homes then perhaps you could help with this. This isn't about inspecting people houses, it's to help new owners with information about basic cat care and answer any questions they might have. This way, we know that our cats will be happy and well looked after, and safe from avoidable risks. The role of Homing Office is good fun and very rewarding as you get to see a cat going to a new home where the new owners are delighted to have their lovely new cat. All our Home Visitors will get training and full support, and you won't be sent out on your own unless you want to. You can shadow another volunteer so you can get some experience and feel comfortable with your role. You can do as many or as little home visits as suits your diary, so if you think you could see yourself doing this, give us a call or send us an email and our Homing Officer will give you a call.

Recruitment and Training Officer
This is an essential role within the branch and we're hoping you have good people skills and a persuasive manner. You would encourage new volunteers into the branch and make sure the exisiting volunteers have the right skills to be able to carry out their roles. You would hopefully be able to establish a good relationship with volunteer agencies in the area who might be able to help provide us with support. Please call us or send an e-mail for more information.

Newsletter Editor
Are you creative, good with computers, and able to use computer software? Maybe you have a way with words, good communication skills, and eye for detail, are an organised person and love to tell a story. If you are, well this is just perfect for you! The Newsletter Editor is how we keep the branch in touch with our local members and a role where you can let your creative flair develop and expand! You won't be working alone, you'll get lots of support from all the branch and won't be thrown in at the deep end. We can give you a template to work with, branch members will be able to give you articles and stories for the newsletter, and you'll get lots of ideas and suggestions to work with. Please call us or send an e-mail and we can tell you more about this exciting role.

Handyman/woman and DIY Assistant
If you're creative and good at general DIY and repairs you could help us to mend broken pens, to put up shelves, perhaps lay paths to the garden pens. This role would be on an ad hoc basis when required. You might be good at designing/building equipment or repairing existing equipment and you could give us your spare time to help us save crucial funds. We would provide the wood, etc required, and hopefully you'd have access to your own toolkit to be able to design with flair!

ebay Seller
Are you addicted to ebay and know how it work? Are you great with words and good with pictures? Do you know how to market a product and write an advert that works? Do you have a computer and broadband? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you can definately help us. Although car boot sales and summer fetes are good, the weather isn't always so generous, so we have to embrace the future and work smart to help to raise funds for cat care. As ebay seller, you'd be responsible for listing and managing the branches goods and operations on ebay. You'd need to keep a record of things sold, and basic profit and loss sheets to ensure that listing fees and Pay Pal costs aren't outweighing profit. Just think of the hours of fun you could have doing this! And you'd be doing a vital role in the branch by helping to raise much needed funds. Fantastic!

Cat Sponsorship
We are in need of sponsors for those long-term cats that, for whatever reason, cannot be rehomed. We would ask you to make a small regular donation to allow us to look after these cats that will be kept in our care and they will be given loads of love and hugs by their long-term fosterer. Please contact us by phone or send us an e-mail to get further details.

Cat Cabin Sponsorship
You can help provide homeless cats and kittens with real and practical support by sponsoring a Cats Protection Cat Cabin.  These wooden shelters provide shelter and heat to cats when all our in-home places are full.  Cat Cabin Sponsorship costs from as little as £4 a month, up to however much you can afford.  To sponsor a cat cabin please complete the attached form and send it to us at the address on the form.  Thank you. Bric-a-Brac
We're always looking for unwanted gifts, ornaments, kitchenware, toys, etc (but not furniture) that we can put into our table top sales or car boot sales to help us to raise funds for the cats in our care. If it makes life easier, we’re happy to arrange to collect the items from you. Please contact us by phone or by e-mail and we can arrange a suitable time to pick them up. Thank you.

Blankets, duvets, towels, etc
We're always looking for unwanted items that we can use as cosy bedding for the cats in our care. If it makes things easier, we can arrange to collect the items from you. Please contact us by phone or by e-mail and we can arrange a suitable time to pick them up. Thank you.
